In December, 2005, Justice Peter Hambly overturned Hearn's ruling, finding the law constitutional.He said the modest restrictions imposed on an offender's liberty were not "grossly disproportionate'' to the goals of the registry -- helping police investigate sexual assaults by checking out registered offenders in the neighbourhood of a crime.Now, it's up to the Court of Appeal to weigh in.
